Drying Grain
Equipment from Skyway
Skyway offers a variety of systems to dry and/or cool and preserve
grain. Natural air drying systems, aeration, and continuous conditioning
systems. Products are sourced from such reputable companies as Phoenix
Rotary, Edwards Grain Guard and Westeel.
Grain
Guard Equipment
Edwards manufactures equipment, fans and heaters for storage management
and drying grain in hopper bottom bins. Conventional grain systems
only dry from the bottom up. Although effective in the bottom half,
they often fall short of drying grain in the centre and top half
of the bin. As grain is augured into the bin, fines collect in the
centre resulting in a dense, packed core that is hard for air to
penetrate. Read More
GRAIN GUARD SYSTEMS overcome this by:
- Forcing air into centre
- Providing a drying front that conforms to the pile
- Reducing static pressure
- Increasing fan efficiency by as much as 20%
- Reducing drying time by as much as 50%
Westeel
Circ-Air System
Gain up to 130% greater aeration coverage with Westeel's revolutionary
Circ-Air Round Pit system.
Up until now flat bottom bin aeration has meant either the expense
of full floor, or the somewhat less effective square pit and in-line
system. But now there's alternative equipment, developed for farmers
dissatisfied by the performance of square pit. Westeel's revolutionary
Circ-Air Round Pit system delivers aeration performance approaching
that of full floor, but at a cost about the same as square pit -
truly a breakthrough in drying grain.
Depending upon your bins diameter and aeration model selected,
Westeel's new Circ-Air system allows you to aerate up to 76% of
your bin floor, a remarkable 130% increase over the 33% maximum
coverage allowed by square pit. With greater coverage you achieve
more efficient aeration and faster grain drying.
Unlike square pit systems that can experience cracking and deterioration
of the concrete floor at the corners, Circ-Air equally distributes
the load stress for a longer lasting, more durable concrete base.
