Hammer Mills are durable utility grinders capable of grinding most free-flowing materials.

The material is fed into the hammer mill grinder from the top and falls into the grinding chamber. The material is contacted by a series of rotating hardened hammers and is ground by repeated contact with these hammers, contact with the screen in the grinding chamber, and particle-to-particle contact. The material remains in the grinding chamber until it is suitably sized to pass through the perforated screen that encircles the inner grain mill chamber

Laden can build the grinder to fit your requirements. By test grinding your product we are able to prove the capability of our hammer mills and to determine the proper model and set up to suit your needs.

We offer hammer mills with bottom discharge (gravity fall) and we offer hammer mills equipped with material handling fans (recommended for finer grinds).
Our hammer mills are direct driven and our engineering staff is also available to assist in designing a system to efficiently handle your product. Whether you need a complete layout or simply need to fit a new piece of equipment into your existing layout, we are available to assist you.

Versatile Clean-Running Hammer Mills

Laden builds exceptionally versatile machines with a simple, uncomplicated design. Our mills are adaptable to most grinding operations without complicated set-up procedures. Rotary Scalpers ensure all products processed through the hammer mill are free of foreign materials. This adds substantial life to hammers and screens in the mill.

The Hammer Mill is efficient, with low power requirements and easy access for hammer and screen inspection or replacement. The machines are easily installed over a pit, hopper, conveyor or any container and the bottom is completely open for full and rapid discharge

Our Model L Grinder features an 18" full circle screen which results in a more uniform texture, less dust and greater capacity per horsepower of the motor. The mill comes with removable wear plates, available with a wide range of screen sizes. The horsepower of the motor can range from 5HP - 30HP x 3450 RPM.

Interchangeable Hammer Mill Screens

We offer interchangeable screens with hole diameters from ¼ " to 1/64" to allow for course or fine grinding of most any product. The output (volume) of the hammermill is dependent upon the screen size, shaft speed (normally 3,600 rpm), the configuration of the hammers, and the motor horsepower.
